Content of the Clarke method
The Clarke method (link to Amazon), whose full name is Technical Studies for the Cornet, is a trumpet method used mainly for the development of fingering technique. In other words, they are exercises where precision and speed predominate when carrying out studies with notes that require the use of the three pistons.
This method must be studied with great patience, since the exercises are not easy. The key to studying these studies is to start very slowly, and progress depending on the ease with which we solve the exercises.
The Clarke method is made up of 10 studies that, although they seem few, can take years to master all of them with total control and precision. Then each study is made up of 2 or more exercises, some more technical and others more musical with the techniques learned.
Since we have this method complete in our “Clave de Mi” player, you will be able to keep track of the exercises that you master, and progressively increase the BPM until you are able to perform them at high speeds.
Organization of exercises by difficulty
The Clarke method is focused on trumpeters who already have a certain level, as it focuses mainly on improving fingering technique. As an approximate, this is the organization of exercises according to their difficulty:
| Difficulty | Exercises |
|---|---|
|
1 - 117 |
|
68 - 190 |

It is always highly recommended to have the methods and pieces in physical format (paper). In this way you will be able to create a great personal library, which will allow you one day to rediscover exercises that you had forgotten, lend your family and friends a book from your collection, or simply look at it and make you remember how hard (and at the same time exciting) was interpreting that work that you have overcome today.
For all this, we have reviewed and selected for you the most recommended, cheap and sold products, so that you can quickly acquire them from Amazon.
