Intrada et Rigaudon (link to Amazon) is a 17th-century (baroque) trumpet piece composed by the English composer Henry Purcell. This work is usually performed by 4th grade elementary students.
It is made up of three movements in the key of C Major and consists of 88 measures:
- The first, the Intrada, where the student must interpret the work majestically in 3/4.
- The second, the Rigaudon, with styles of typical French dance from the 16th and 17th centuries, in a 2/2 rhythm.
- Finally, the third movement is a restatement of the first.
