Topic #20: MuseScore Overview (Part I)
In this post, we recap the first 20 videos of the MuseTube course, where we’ve learned the essential fundamentals of MuseScore. If you’ve followed all the videos so far, this article will serve as a self-assessment before moving on to the next, more advanced section.
🎼 Downloading and Installing MuseScore
In the first videos of the course, we focused on how to download and install MuseScore on different operating systems:

We learned various ways to input notes, chords, and rests in MuseScore:

- Video 10: Using voices to separate melodic lines within a score.
- Video 11: Different note entry modes.
- Video 12: Creating and deleting measures using different methods.
- Video 13: Advanced selection modes for working with specific elements of the score.
- Video 14: Modifying notes, transposing by semitones or octaves, changing durations, etc.
✂️ Copy, Paste, and Organization
To make working with scores easier, we learned about content management in MuseScore:
- Video 15: Different ways to copy, cut, and paste content.
- Video 16: Using and customizing the Palettes panel.
- Video 17: Exploring the Properties panel and its multiple functions.
- Video 18: Creating and managing parts, i.e., individual parts for each musician.
